The thoughts of before 

When

Laughter was our joy
Living for each other was our purpose
Prayer was our protection
Silent was our anger
A kiss was our apology
And
Making love was our reconciliation

The best parts were waking up to another morning

The beauty of those used to's

Before 

Our hands disengaged

Before
Light turned to night

Before
Smiles turned into cries

Before
The word following hello was goodbye

Thoughts
Of
What was
That
Is no longer

Reminded by a broken heart
That has never healed
