Poem: Impatience

Impatience

By: Joi Maree Flowers

Time's a wastin'
And we're all growing impatient
Of waitin'
For our promised dues

A change of better
Vowed to be given
In this world where we're all existin'
But a lot of us still ain't livin' like we should

We don't want much
Just our dreams to see the light of reality
So take down those barriers which ends the journey of our traveling roads
And those signs of exclusions that denies us access through those opened doors

As they should no longer apply
To us
The believers
Who want to achieve

And the dreamers
Who wish to no longer sleep
As we are ready
To become our purpose

And fill the dash
Of our life's mission
For we must give account of our days
When asked in the end

But the time to start is now
As enough time has passed of
Hangin' on to hope and
Wearin' our patience thin with repeated excuses

We are ready to begin

NOW
