Poem: Like Hell (it hurts)

Like Hell (it hurts)

By: Joi Maree Flowers

Recovery was suppose to be easy
But that lie matched the one which cut the wound
Deeper than a scratch
Wider than a nickel
Placed in the middle of the heart
That didn't asked to be torn
By deception
By anger
In the so-called name of love
From the one called love

Who melted the gleam of infatuated eyes into fallen tears
Who left a once filled home empty of its everlasting hope
Who reversed the foundation meant to be built on trust
By burning it down to ashes of lies

Hurt was never meant to be the option
Though now revenge is the plan
Revenge to make the one who brought on the pain
Feel it worst than its victim
